About me

Hello. I'm Meg, wife to Tom, Mama to Charlie to Eve and self-confessed bookaholic.

Back in 2009 this site started out as a blog about books, when Charlie arrived it became a parenting blog and has pretty much stayed that way ever since. I keep this blog as a diary to remember the little things and big things that happen to us.

Before Charlie came along this blog was called the Battersea Booklover. I used to get through at least two novels a week, for our first six Charlie months I read a total of one, yes one, book and now I'm getting back to my old bookaholic ways. Charlie arrived in May 2010 and ever since this blog has been almost solely devoted to him, this is my diary, my keepsake and my record of the first few years of parenthood.

I am still a booklover but Battersea was sacrificed for the arrival of Charlie. We needed a bigger place and so moved south, we now live near Crystal Palace and I'm learning to love being a true South Londoner. Having a baby really gets you into the centre of the community and I spent my maternity leave meeting other Mums, going to local baby groups and spending a time walking with Charlie in our local parks.

I'm now back at work and learning how to become a fully functioning Working Mum. Juggling a job and a baby is tricky, hard work but ultimately rewarding.

This blog is now mostly about Charlie, follow me as I learn, laugh and love in the first few years of this little guy's life and maybe they'll be a few book recommends sprinkled in as well.

So welcome, do comment on my posts, and if you like what I'm saying please become a Follower, I'd love to hear from you!
